Chess Apparel (T-Shirts and other stuff)

A couple of years ago we surfed the web in search of fun and unique t-shirts related to chess. As a follow-up to our recent post about wacky chess sets, we thought it would be fun to take another look and see if there are some new ideas on how people are expressing their love for the game of kings.

Below is a selection of T-shirts that we found on the web –

  1. – “My Prefrontal Cortex …” – You have to love a shirt that is intellectual and goofy at the same time. (Which is another way to describe many of the chess players you bump into at USCF tournaments!) Cost $20.20
  2. – “Life is a Game” – Another tongue-in-cheek quip that will put a smile on people’s faces. Cost $20.
  3. – “To Hell with Book Openings” – Some top players subscribe to this theory, but most of us try to at least stay in the book for the first handful of moves. This one’s a bit more expensive, priced at $30.99
  4. “It’s All Fun and Games …” – Another clever slogan, but unfortunately, we misplaced our notes and can’t tell you where to get this one! If anybody is able to find out where it’s from, please add a note to the comments section of this post.

One last thing. It’s great to buy items that profess your love of chess. But for god’s sake, please don’t purchase this wacky chess board hat for your child, unless you want to subject them to years of merciless taunting in school:

(… if you must have it, you can find it at the US Chess Federation store for only $6.95)
